I have worked to merge ecology and economy since Earth Day 1970. I could see that ecosystems are our most important yet most neglected infrastructure, and that one day, assuring their vitality would be a major sector of the world economy.
Right now, I am working to create the proper training and support infrastructure to serve the large number of amazing projects I’m finding right near me, while finalizing the Make My Nut app to support a global expansion of training and funding for cool projects that align with
my mission.
I allocate my time between improving my health, learning Spanish, and growing my mentoring and support programs.
The most difficult thing for me is to work from a plan instead of spontaneous, intense efforts which is my default style. Also, having raised and spent a lot out outside capital in the past, I am purposefully constraining my efforts to operate all of my businesses inside of their current income. Silver lining: I keep discovering super-efficient project development methods that I can teach my students.
Growing up in an inner suburb of St. Louis Missouri, I witnessed the constant replacement of nature with pointless development projects such as road widenings that were typically funded with federal government subsidies. My community was literally being destroyed by government handouts. As a result, I sought to learn all aspects of the economic system — business, government, and finance — so that I could create new, ecology enhancing economic growth strategies. See
my bio for more details.
I aim to train and help fund hundreds and even thousands of leaders to take responsibility for the health of humans and the entire biosphere, and build a sustainable leadership core that will carry on my work to grow the peace-based economy for generations.
